Look for Signs of Abundance
Symbolically, li gua represents how we envision our lives and perceive the world through the filter of our beliefs and attitudes. One of the most powerful–and simple—ways to make your daily life more positive is to consciously choose where you place your attention. If you want to experience greater abundance, start to notice the abundance that is already all around you, rather than focusing on signs of scarcity that may also be present.
For example, from my lanai in Hawaii I can look at the guava tree, which was laden with fruit two months ago, and notice that now it has none (scarcity), or I direct my attention to a corp of late-season mangos ripening on the mango tree (abundance) I can also notice that the little green birds eating those mangos are truly experiencing abundance by sinking their beaks into a sweet, juicy fruit about 10 or 12 times their size. Their thoughts, if they have any, must be something like, “Mmmm…mango!” not, “Uh oh, where did all the guavas go?”
Choose to see abundance all around you every day, no matter how inadequate your financial means may be right now. Each time you feel lack, look for something that you can enjoy instead. Here are some ideas for learning to place your attention on abundance, rather than scarcity:
Instead of focusing on… Choose to see… How much it will cost to fill your car’s tas tank. The abundance of gas stations and choices available to you, and how easy it is, when you need more gas, to get it. How much you just spent at the grocery store. The abundance of fresh, healthy foods available at your local supermarkets. Your credit card balance. All the wonderful things and services you have been able to enjoy on credit. The meager size of your bank account. The dollars that do flow into your life, in the form of your paycheck, discounts, gifts, and rebates on items you purchase. This would seem to be more of a positive-thinking book, rather than a fung shui book, but it is interesting, and would be helpful, no doubt. I would like to receive a copy!

Redirecting your thinking works in many other parts of your life too. Lovely advice. After watching some of these "home" shows I have discovered that my apartment was not built along feng shui lines but I love it so am looking for ways to make it so.

Yes, it is always better to see what you have than to go down the hole of want.

I love the idea of looking at the abundance of things around us,- even the number gas stations - when your're down to your last $5 don't think of the cost of gas - be grateful you have a car, you have $5 to put in that car - enough to get you home - to shelter, food and loved ones!
Feng Shui can only be a positive force in your life because it encourages positivity!
" Choose to see" and it will all become clear to you!
